I read Who Is J.K. Rowling by Pamela D. Pollack, Meg Belviso, Stephen Marches, and Nancy Harrison. I learned a lot from this book but, some of the most interesting facts were theta her son David was born in 2003 like my brother. Also, her daughter Mackenzie was born in 2005 like me. Another fact is that she came up with Harry Potter on a train and a train one of the first spots that Harry is in. J.K. Rowling is important to our world because she is the author of a very popular book series that got kids exited to read. A last fact is that she is richer than the Queen of England!

There was another fact I wanted to put in. It was that at the real King's Cross train station in London, there is a sign for platform nine and three quarters and there is a luggage cart sticking out of the magical barrier.

I read Emma Watson. She plays Hermione in all eight Harry Potter movies . Did you know she was born April 15th, 1990 and has a brother Alex? She had to audition many times before getting the role as Hermione. While making the Harry Potter movies she became close friends with the other stars, Rupert Grint (Ron) and Daniel Raddcliffe (Harry). She contributed to our world by inspiring kids to read books and follow their dreams. I think Kira and Maggie would both like this book because they both like the Harry Potter books!

I read the biography "On the Field with Mia Hamm" by Matt Christopher. Mia Hamm is considered one of the greatest women's soccer players ever. She was born on March 17th 1972, in Selma, Alabama. Mia discovered soccer when her family moved to Italy. In seventh grade she played quarterback on a football team even though the coach didn't want her to tryout, because she was a girl. Teams that she has played on have won championships. Mia's team played in the 1996 Olympics and won a gold medal. She didn't care if she scored or not just that her team had fun and won. What she contributed to the world, was proving women can play sports and are tough!

I read Isaac Newton by Carla Mooney. Isaac Newton was a great mathematician and physicist. I learned that Isaac Newton made the scientific method, rocket science, the reflecting telescope, and the theory of light and gravity. All of Newton's discoveries made people change the way people think about and understand the universe. People in old times thought that unpredictable and supernatural things controlled the planets, galaxies, and the universe. Until Isaac Newton came to be. He proved them wrong about planets, comets, ocean tides and even falling apples (gravity). That is ALL of what Isaac Newton contributed to the world.

I read Baseballs Top 10 Home Run Hitters. There were many people in the book that I could read about, but I chose Mickey Mantle. One interesting fact is that as a 19 year old rookie he was already being compared to one of the greatest and most popular baseball players in history- Joe DiMaggio. He made people enjoy themselves when they were at a baseball game because they loved watching him hit far, catch balls, and help the team win. He helped the Yankees win 7 titles and broke lots of baseball records.
